Back at the ranch...

Grace and I are back at our apartment safe and sound. At MGH, I spoke to her surgeon who said that everything went as well as possible. A bit later, I went back to the recovery area to see Grace and she looked great! It was hard for me to imagine that she had actually had surgery. She was alert and sitting up - unbelievable unless you know her! So far so good. She walked, had an appetite, ate and is now sleeping. Now that she is better, I'll sleep well, too.

Live from MGH

My partner Grace Talusan is here at Massachusetts General Hospital for a revision of the dual mastectomy/ reconstructive surgery that she had in December of 2007. While we have both been assured that this will be easy compared to the previous surgery, the idea of Grace going under the knife again makes me feel anxious and angry. Why did she have to inherit the breast cancer gene? Lucky for me she is brave and lovely as ever. For more of Grace's story and her amazing work, see her blog: http://gracetalusan.blogspot.com

Yet another blog?

Another blog? The web must be littered with the detritus of unread; poorly maintained blogs, but here we go!

For now, let's just say that I am developing a process without much attention to the outcome. If anyone reads this, thanks for stopping by.
